DESCRIPTION:Regional Economic Development Summit is an annual event designed to bring awareness to our area. The 2022 event is planned to be different in style\, beginning with a virtual tour of our Best Southwest Region and ending at High Point 67 Logistics Center\, A Class A industrial park with up to 2\,003\,960 square feet on 184 acres.\n\n\n\nOnce arriving at the construction site you will enjoy some light refreshments from local Best Southwest businesses while hearing a discussion moderated by Janie Havel\, Community Relations Specialist with Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office within the office of Governor Abbot with Henry Ross Perot lll (Hill). We will unveil the Regional Master Plan that co-chairs Dr. Seabrooks and Mayor Carrie Gordon along with committee have been working on.\n\n\n\nModerator\n\nJanie Havel is the Governor's Office Community Relations Representative for the North Texas Region. As a member of the Community Relations division in the Business Assistance Department\, Janie serves as the liaison between the Governor's Office and the cities and counties in her region that includes 54 counties from Northwest and North Central Texas to the Arkansas\, Louisiana\, and Oklahoma borders.\n\n\n\nJanie came to the position with extensive experience throughout the region. Before joining the Governor's Office in 2006\, she served the region as a representative for the Comptroller's office\, working in community outreach and with economic development sales tax statutes.\n\n\n\nA native of Cincinnati\, Janie is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford\, Ohio. She and her husband Pete live in Dallas and have a daughter Reagan\, who is a freshman at Baylor University.\n\n\n\nGuest Speaker\n\nHenry Ross Perot lll (Hill) serves as Vice President of Hillwood\, a leading global real estate development company\, focusing primarily on its industrial and warehousing portfolio at AllianceTexas\, the company's flagship mixed-used development located in North Texas.  \n\n\n\nHill represents the third generation of Perot's to assume a leadership role within the family's portfolio of companies. Prior to joining Hillwood\, he served as a United States Air Force F-16 pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard. Hill was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 2012 and earned his pilot's wings in 2013 while stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged in 2019 at the rank of Captain. \n\n\n\nA native of Dallas\, Texas\, Hill is active with several local charities and civic groups including Texans for Lawsuit Reform coalition and the Salvation Army. Hill serves on the Board of Directors of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation\, the National Medal of Honor Museum\, and the St. Mark's School of Texas' Alumni Board. He also is a long-time supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth. In his spare time\, he is an avid golfer\, hunter\, and outdoorsman.\n\n  \n\nHill graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2009.\n\nThe ever coveted "Red Box" has morphed into a Swag Bag this year.
